Year 8 Paris Trip
In early July, 47 Year 8 pupils and six staff went to Paris for an action packed weekend.
Despite the extreme heat we managed to climb the Eiffel Tower, have a boat trip on the Seine, pay our respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arc de Triomphe, and saunter down the Champs Elysees.
We also visited the pretty market town of Brie Comte Robert where pupils had to use their French to choose ingredients for lunch which they later made themselves.
Trails, Snails and Chocolate Tales
The pupils also followed a town trail where they had to use road signs and clues to navigate their way round. We visited a snail farm and sampled a few snails later at dinner, and on the way home visited a chocolate factory and saw how master chocolatiers make luxury chocolates.
In the evenings there was also a full programme of events, including a disco. The staff even won second prize in a general knowledge quiz against the staff from five other schools.
Despite the uncomfortable heat it was a fantastic trip.
Thanks to Mrs Rogers for organising the trip, and to Mrs Strumnik-Brown, Miss White, Mr Watson, Mr Wilson and Mr Wood who gave up their weekend to take the children away.
