Global Institute in Berlin
At the end of July Mrs Campbell attended the week long Apple Distinguished Educators' Global Institute in Berlin.
Her application was based on her ALL Language Teacher of the Year award, her work with our Digital Leaders and her research project with Miss Morley and Mrs Cope. Their action research also drew on academic research by fellow ADE Peter Esperanza in California. Mrs Campbell was delighted to have been selected as one of 300 teachers across the world to train with Apple in the use of new technology in education.
Mrs Campbell took the opportunity to forge links with teachers across the world and worked with other UK teachers, as well as educators in Vietnam, Spain, Canada, Mexico, France and Colombia to name but a few.
She was impressed by the mix of history and progress in Berlin. On a project day she had the opportunity to visit many of the landmarks there such as the Reichstag, the Holocaust Memorial and Check Point Charlie.
Mrs Campbell will continue to work with the connections she has made to bring more authentic Spanish and French voices into our classrooms. She also wishes to encourage students to look beyond their own surroundings at the incredible opportunities they have for work and travel.
