St Barnabas Digital Leader Network Day
On the 20th of January, the St Barnabas Digital Leader teams met for a training day at Trinity.
Mrs Campbell, our Apple Distinguished Educator, and her team of senior Digital Leaders ran the training day for the pupils from St Teresa's, Our Lady's and St Augustine's primary schools. Trinity's new Digital Leader recruits also attended the training.
Mastering the Apps
Over 40 students attended and began to train to expert level in 18 different apps! Mr Williams, from Our Lady's, ran a workshop on Tellagami, an app that allows users to make videos featuring an avatar version of themselves.
There was a Swift Playgrounds workshop for the teachers too. It was run by a Senior Digital Leader and he showed the teachers how to use the iPad app to practise using the Swift computer programming language to complete tasks and challenges.
The network has plans to meet up again later this academic year. The Trinity team are available to train teachers or help students with projects every Monday and Thursday lunchtime in Room 1.
Digital Leaders are students trained to use digital technology, such as iPads and interactive whiteboards. They have a supportive training role in their school, helping other students to complete projects and providing training for their teachers.
