Lunchtime Concert - November Part 2

On 17th November, the Music Department held its second lunchtime concert in two weeks in the Drama Studio. This time it was the turn of the Sixth Form students - and an extremely talented Year 7 student.

The very large and enthusiastic audience responded warmly to each performance and gave great encouragement to all those on stage.

The Programme

The programme opened and closed with two stunning piano solos, a Haydn Sonata movement and Humoresque by Absil. Between these were some delightful performances of songs from contrasting genres. ‘O Foolish Fay’ from Iolanthe by Gilbert and Sullivan was preceded by an original composition entitled ‘Goodbye’ for voice and guitar by a Year 13 student, and followed by a super version of ‘Against the Current’ by Mree, again for voice and guitar. The final vocal number was the beautiful duet, ‘Sun and Moon’ from the musical Miss Saigon.

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who performed or supported and we hope for some more great music making from our amazing young people at the next concert on January 26th.
