Classical Roadmap Lecture
A group of A-Level Music students went to the Royal Concert Hall on the 15th January to attend a lecture on the Great Concertos by Music expert Jonathan James.
Jonathan expertly led them through the characteristics and developments of concertos from the Baroque period to modern day, using an incredibly wide selection of musical extracts.
In the interval the group was entertained by one of our Year 11 students who demonstrated phenomenal skill and expression, playing pieces by Scarlatti and Rachmaninov on the Steinway concert grand piano in the main auditorium.
The whole evening was an extremely valuable experience. Thank you to the Royal Concert Hall for providing Trinity Music students with the opportunity to enhance their learning. We are hoping to further our relationship with the speaker Jonathan James; he has offered to come into school to deliver practical workshops on specific aspects of the A-Level Music syllabus.
