Piano Perfection Lunchtime Concert

The Music Department continued its programme of lunchtime concerts in the Drama Studio with 'Piano Perfection' on Friday 26th January.

Six competitors from the recent House Piano Competition treated the attentive audience to some truly delightful performances of their competition entries.

Piano Perfection Participant

The pupils played a wide variety of music, from Scarlatti to Chopin and Debussy, Merikanto to Matt Bellamy (Muse) to Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi. The students demonstrated their considerable talents, playing extremely fast passages with ease, dramatic and exciting sections with power and strength and more reflective moments with delicacy and dynamic control.

Get Playing!

It was great to see and hear that piano playing is so strong amongst our students and we hope to build this area of our work even further. There are still opportunities to sign up for lessons on the piano or keyboard and if you are interested you should see Mrs Manderson or Mr Cardwell.

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who shared their wonderful playing and to the audience for their support and interest.

We look forward to hearing even more superb music at our last lunchtime concert for this year on 9th March.
