Year 9 Drugs Assembly
On May 3rd, Year 9 was off-timetable for the afternoon for a carousel of drugs education.
The pupils attended three sessions over the two hours: a presentation from a retired police officer, an interactive session with an outreach worker from the NHS and talks from three recovered drug addicts from the charity Betel.
The sessions were very well received. The pupils engaged well with the activities and speakers, being particularly captivated by the shocking life stories of the recovered addicts.
Education about these matters is vital - as one of the speakers told the pupils, "knowledge is power".
A huge thank you goes to the guest speakers, who made the afternoon so worthwhile.
