Premier League 4 Sport Tennis Competition
On the 7th of July, four Trinity pupils took part in the Premier League 4 Sport Tennis Competition at the National Tennis Centre.
It was a touch tennis competition, which involves a soft ball and a smaller court, similar in size to a badminton court. The pupils were very excited to be taking part in such an exciting competition, attended by Marcus Willis and Graeme Le Saux. Our pupils were representing Notts County FC.
Our team did very well in the final to finish runners up in their group. They were unfortunate to get beaten in the semifinals by Newcastle United, as all games finished within one point of their opposition.
Sporting Links with Notts County
Trinity's link to Notts County has continued this year, with a number of their coaches supporting our extra-curricular provision in a variety of sports. They have been supporting tennis on Wednesday lunchtimes.
A Trip to Wimbledon
After the competition, the pupils and staff were treated to an afternoon at Wimbledon, on Day 10 of the prestigious championships. We were lucky to have tickets to Court One where we saw the ladies' doubles quarter finals and men's doubles semifinals. At the end of the day we were also treated to the ladies' doubles quarter finals on Court Two where we saw the famous Williams sisters win their first set.
A truly fantastic day was had by all! The four pupils were a real asset to themselves, the school and Notts County. We are all grateful to the club for inviting us as well as for their continued support throughout the year.
